Fiala discusses migration in Brussels with EU leaders

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on Thursday attended a pre-summit meeting on migration in Brussels, focusing on Syria and return policies. Hosted by Denmark, the meeting included European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and leaders from Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden.

Fiala shared a photo from the meeting, describing it as "a gathering of countries with a similar approach to migration."

At the EU summit later on Thursday, leaders will discuss plans to speed up the return of unsuccessful asylum seekers and explore return centres in non-EU countries. A draft proposal for new return rules is expected by early 2025.
