Fiala: Czechia will do its best to get EU to accept Croatia into Shengen

Czechia will strive to ensure that, during its presidency, the EU decides to grant Croatia entry into the Shengen Area, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Thursday after meeting with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković in Prague. Mr Plenković said that Croatia wants to enter the EU’s borderless zone in January 2023.

The Czech prime minister told the Czech News Agency that he also feels significant support among EU leaders for Croatia’s accession to the Shengen Area from speaking to them at informal meetings.
