Fiala: Czech businesses have to help with reconstruction of Ukraine
Prime Minister Petr Fiala has said that Czech companies should be encouraged to get involved in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and that it is necessary to start preparing for the end of the war now, so that when it happens, it will be possible to help immediately. He made these statements before departing for a conference on this very topic in Lugano, Switzerland.
Mr. Fiala also stated that the post-war reconstruction of the country, which was invaded by Russia on February 24, will be a task for all key players from the democratic world, but Ukrainians themselves should be the ones to decide on the priorities. He therefore considers it important that Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, with whom Fiala plans to hold bilateral meetings, will attend the conference in Lugano.
Mr. Fiala underscored that Czechia will continue to support Ukraine with supplies of military equipment, repairs of military equipment and humanitarian aid. Experts estimate that the reconstruction of Ukraine will cost hundreds of billions of euros.
