Fewer medical emergency services available from January
From January, the number of medical out-of-hours clinics will be reduced, with services mainly provided at hospital emergency departments. There will be 16 fewer out-of-hours clinics for adults; pediatric out-of-hours services will be available at all hospital pediatric departments, and dental clinics will rotate in some regions.
A list of out-of-hours clinics with their opening hours will be published by January 1 on the websites of health insurance companies. This was stated at Thursday’s press conference by Jan Bodnár, deputy director of the General Health Insurance Company (VZP), and Martin Balada, president of the Association of Health Insurance Companies.
