Fewer than 11,000 Czechs abroad have signed up for postal voting

As of Friday, nearly 11,000 Czechs living abroad have requested the documents needed for voting by mail in the October parliamentary elections. Foreign Minister and Spolu coalition candidate Jan Lipavský called the interest in the first-ever postal voting a great success. When introducing the new voting method, the ministry had estimated around 50,000 voters abroad. However, political scientists consider the turnout disproportionate to the effort the governing coalition invested in pushing the change through.
