Fare increase for Prague Integrated Transport system announced

The half-hour single ticket for public transport in Prague will increase from 30 to 39 CZK starting in January, and to 36 CZK if purchased through the Lítačka app. This was approved on Monday by Prague city councilors, along with a proposal for a fare increase in the Prague Integrated Transport system (PID) for travel between the Central Bohemian Region and Prague, which was initiated by the regional authorities. The original fare increase proposal did not include Prague’s public transport, but it was added by the councilor for finance, Zdeněk Kovářík (Spolu). The Pirates party opposed the change. The councilors also approved the original proposal for fare increases between the city and its surroundings, under which, starting in January, the price of single tickets for commuters will rise by up to 30%, and for time-based tickets, it will increase by up to a quarter.
