Extreme heat to end with thunderstorms

Thursday was one of the hottest days of the year in Czechia with temperatures in some places exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature on record for August 4 was registered at around 20 stations that have been active for at least 30 years. The hottest temperature of all – 36.5 degrees Celsius – was recorded in Tušimice in north Bohemia.

Temperatures on Friday are also expected to exceed 35 degrees Celsius. Meteorologists have warned of severe storms expected to hit the country on Friday night and Saturday morning.
