Expert: Growing conditions will worsen in Czechia, but even more so elsewhere

The conditions for growing a variety of crops are deteriorating in some parts of Czechia and will worsen as the impacts of climate change progress, but elsewhere in the world it will be even faster, bio-climatologist Miroslav Trnka from the Institute for Global Change Research of the Czech Academy of Sciences told ČTK. It may continue to be profitable to grow wheat in Czechia even with a greater risk of drought, because in some places farmers may struggle to grow it at all. Czech farmers can therefore still succeed on the global market. According to Mr. Trnka, farmers have no choice but to adapt to changing climate conditions as quickly as possible.
