"Everyone" to blame for botched copy of Manes calendar on Old Town Clock
Inspectors investigating the botched copy of the Manes calendar during the 2018 reconstruction of Prague’s famous astronomical clock have concluded that the artist, conservationists supervising the work and Prague City Hall which paid for it, are all to blame for the sorry outcome. Some time ago members from the Club for Old Prague pointed out that the copy of the caledar deviated significantly from Manes‘ original and that some of the figures on the calendar were dramatically differnt, with a distinct modern slant. No one is to be penalized for the botched copy which has drawn widespread criticism. Prague City Hall wants to have a new copy made.
