Eva Jiřičná
Architect and designer.
Architect and designer who, after the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Warsaw Pact troops in 1968, emigrated to Great Britain. Her notable works include the Canada Water bus terminal and the entrance to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. She is also famous for her original designs of glass staircases.
The illustrated project Czech Heroines was inspired by the centenary of voting rights for Czech women and the 200th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Czech writer Božena Němcová. It is a joint project by the Czech Centres, the Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia and Radio Prague International.
