Eurostat: Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages in Czechia up by 26.4 percent in 3 years

Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages in the Czech Republic have jumped by 26.4 percent over the past three years. However, food prices have also risen enormously in other EU countries, with the Czech Republic ranking thirteenth in a comparison of price rises, according to data released by Eurostat. By comparison, food prices rose faster in this period in Slovakia (37.1 percent), Poland (33.9 percent) and even Germany (27.1 percent), where many Czechs living close to the border shop to save money.
