European Commission lowers growth forecast for Czech economy

The European Commission’s newly published Spring Economic Forecast expects the Czech economy to grow by 1.9 percent in 2022. This is below the EU average and also significantly less than the 4.4 percent growth predicted by the Commission in its previous Winter Forecast which was released in February. The Commission expects economic growth in Czechia to be hindered by uncertainty and price growth.

The Spring Economic Forecast expects Czech growth to rise to 2.7 percent next year, a rate that exceeds the EU average by 0.4 percent.
