EU support hub to be established in Moldova
A European Union support hub will be set up in the Moldovan capital Chișinău, bringing together security experts from EU countries to fight organized crime, EU interior ministers agreed at an informal meeting in Prague on Monday. The launch of the EU support hub reflects the EUs commitment to draw Moldova into the democratic fold of nations following the decision of the European Council to grant the country EU candidate status. Its aim is to strengthen Moldova's internal security and border protection. Over a dozen EU member states want to join the support hub which will tackle illegal arms trafficking, illegal migration, people smuggling, cybercrime and drug trafficking.
