EU, NATO express support for Czech Republic over Russia operation
The European Union and NATO have expressed support for the Czech Republic following revelations that Russian intelligence agents caused deadly explosions at a Czech ammunition depot in 2014. In a statement on Wednesday night, the EU’s foreign affairs chief, Josep Borrell, pledged full solidarity with Prague in the light of such actions and condemned illegal activities on Czech territory.
On Thursday NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance stood in solidarity with the Czech Republic and expressed deep concerns over Russia’s destabilising actions.
