Ethylene plant in Litvínov shut down due to unexploded WWII bomb

Orlen Unipetrol has shut down the ethylene plant at its petrochemical complex in Litvínov, following the closing of production at the neighbouring refinery after the discovery of an unexploded aerial bomb from WWII at the site. The refinery is expected to resume operations once the unexploded bomb is safely disposed of. The controlled detonation of the bomb, which features a chemical timer that prohibits movement until Tuesday afternoon, is estimated to be completed no earlier than Wednesday.
