Ester Ledecká rewrites history with giant slalom victory at Snowboard World Championships

Ester Ledecká returned to the Snowboard World Championships after eight years, reclaiming her title in the giant slalom. The three-time Olympic champion, who won bronze in downhill at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in February, made history as the first to win medals in two different world championships, alpine skiing and snowboarding, in the same season.

Ledecká dominated the qualifiers in St. Moritz and remained unbeatable through the elimination rounds. She defeated Italy's Jasmin Coratti, Bulgaria's Malena Zamfirova, Switzerland's Ladina Caviezel, and in the final, Japan's World Cup winner Miki. In the title race, she finished 48 hundredths ahead of the defending champion, securing her third world snowboarding gold.
