Environment Ministry officials slam proposal to transfer nature protection to building authorities

Ministry of the Environment representatives have criticized a draft amendment to the new Building Act that transfers the competences of nature protection in national parks and protected landscape areas to building authorities.

The lower house of parliament economic committee recommended that the amendment, which concerns built-up areas and buildable areas of all specially protected areas, be adopted. Currently, construction in national parks must be approved from the park administration.
