Staying with reactions to the new government, and the Czech Chamber of Commerce

Staying with reactions to the new government, and the Czech Chamber of Commerce has expressed amusement over the appointment of former finance minister Jiri Rusnok a minister of industry and trade in the new government. The chamber's vice-president Zdenek Somr pointed out that as a finance minister, Mr. Rusnok ignored Czech exporters' complaints about the continuing strengthening of the Czech currency. Now, he is supposed to stand on the other side of the barricade and fight for the interests of exporters and businesses in general.

The Chamber of Commerce welcomes the creation of a new government post of deputy-premier for science and research. He said the previous government's failure to support research and development could within the next three or four years result in the inflow of foreign investment dying out due to a lack of qualified technical workers in the country.
