Egg prices continue to rise
Egg prices continue to rise, according to data from the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ). A pack of ten eggs now costs an average of 73.43 koruna, an increase of 6.24 koruna (or 9.29 percent) compared to October. Compared with last November, the price has risen by 8.62 koruna (13.3 percent). With the Christmas season approaching, egg prices may continue to climb, said Gabriela Dlouhá, chairwoman of the Czech-Moravian Poultry Union, in a statement to ČTK. She also noted that prices are currently being influenced by the spread of avian flu in Europe and the restructuring of poultry farms, as cage-based farming will be banned in Czechia starting in 2027.
