Economic experts have reservations to 2025 draft budget
Some experts of the National Economic Council of the Government (NERV) have voiced reservations to the government-proposed state budget for 2025 and are hesitant to recommend its approval to President Petr Pavel. Helena Horská, a member of the Council and one of the prime minister’s economic advisers, said in a debate on Czech Television that there are unclear items in the draft budget, which should be better structured and more transparent. The president’s own economic advisers have voiced similar concerns. The president said earlier that he would either like to have sufficient grounds to veto the proposed budget, or to be sure that its shortcomings can be overcome. The Chamber of Deputies is to expected to give the draft state budget for next year final approval this week.
