EC president praises Czechia for “exemplary“ support of Ukraine

Czechia has won praise from European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for its solidarity with Ukraine and the way it is handling the presidency of the EU Council. Speaking at a conference of European Affairs Committees of EU Parliaments (COSAC) in Prague, Von der Leyen said the country’s solidarity with Ukraine was exemplary, noting that Czechia had taken in more than 400,000 refugees from Ukraine and was one of the biggest donors to the embattled country in terms of military equipment. The EC president said that at the helm of the EU Czechia was proving itself to be reliable, principled and was working hard to maintain European unity.
