“Dry February” campaign underway

The annual "Dry February" campaign, which aims to curb risky consumption, is once again underway in the Czech Republic. The campaign, which was established in 2013 by the League of Open Men, involves abstaining from alcohol for a month so as to help people test their dependence on alcohol and change their habits.  Originally targeted at individuals, it has also recently focused on education in companies. Approximately 700,000 people joined in the effort last year. Half of those who did tempered their drinking habits permanently. Health Ministry statistics indicate that roughly one and a half million people in the Czech Republic engage in risky consumption.
