Doctors’ chief slams Ministry of Health as arrogant

The head of the Czech Medical Chamber, Milan Kubek, has slammed the approach of the country’s Ministry of Health as arrogant. Speaking at a congress of the professional grouping in Brno on Saturday, Mr. Kubek said the ministry had ignored its feedback on a draft decree on insurance coverage.

The chamber’s leaders had already stated that they were opposed to the draft decree, which the Ministry of Health says will guarantee that health facilities’ get an 8 percent rise in reimbursements from insurance companies next year. The professional association had pushed for a rise of 13 percent.
