Disciplinary proceedings begin over Olomouc fans’ racist chants directed at Pilsen striker Beauguel

The Czech Football League has begun proceedings against Sigma Olomouc due to the racist behaviour of fans directed against Jean-David Beauguel, a French national who plays for rival club Viktoria Pilsen.

During a league match on Sunday, Sigma Olomouc fans imitated monkey noises when the striker Beauguel came near their section, a racist gesture that has sometimes been directed at players of African descent.

Club management said in a statement it condemned the behaviour and had immediately removed the offenders from the stadium.
