Digital central database of patients’ health records to be available in 2025
A law introducing a digital central database of patients’ medical records should be in force from 2025, according to a proposal by the Ministry of Health. The ministry has now prepared the draft bill and presented it to the lower house for debate. The slow digitization of the health system has come under fire from the Supreme Audit Office which said money had been allotted for this goal as early as 2019. The introduction of a central digitized database will cost about CZK 50 million, while CZK 10 million will be spent on software tools.
