Development minister: Czechia secures CZK 960 billion of funding from future EU budget
The Czech Republic will be able to draw from CZK 960 billion worth of funds in the EU’s upcoming 2021-2027 budget, Regional Development Minister Klára Dostálová said at an online conference on Tuesday. She said that this is around CZK 450 billion more than was expected in the original 2018 proposal. It is also a substantial increase to the CZK 620 billion that have been allocated to Czechia in the current EU budget.
The larger allocation includes CZK 210 billion crowns from coronavirus stimulus related funds. Ms. Dostálová said that while the budget proposed in 2018 meant her ministry would have to weigh each funding proposal carefully, under the current funding allocation it will instead have to find enough projects to make use of the money.
