Defence Minister Zůna cancels China trip over budget talks

Czech Defence Minister Jaromír Zůna (SPD) will not travel to China in mid-September to attend an international security and defence conference, so that he can take part in the final negotiations on next year's state budget. Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and SPD leader Tomio Okamura told journalists on Friday.

A ministry official will attend the conference in Zůna's place.

Minister Zůna is to prepare a more detailed breakdown of some parts of the defence budget ahead of Monday's coalition talks on the budget, Okamura added.
