Declining trend of new Covid cases continues, reproduction number at 0.86

Some 195 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, a fall of 37 on the same day last week. This continues a trend of falling confirmed infections.

The reproduction number is now at 0.86 and has been below 1.0 for a week and a half. Over the last week there have been roughly 12 daily new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

More than 4.7 million people in the nation of 10.7 million have now been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
