Damaged railway section near Milavče being repaired after Wednesday’s tragic accident
The Czech Railway Administration (Správa železnic) has replaced all 109 railway tiles in the area of Wednesday’s railway accident near Milavče, which left three people dead and dozens injured. The single track, which connects Prague with Munich, should be fully repaired and functional around 6pm on Friday, according to Správa železnic.
The railway section was damaged on Wednesday, when an express train traveling from Munich hit a regional passenger train. German railway organisations have since voiced criticism about the safety of Czech Railways. The honorary chairman of the German passenger association PRO BAHN, Karl-Peter Naumann, called for the Czech signalling system to be urgently revised.
