Czechs take two medals from Salt Lake City Winter Olympics
The Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City ended on Sunday with a Czech medals tally of two - Ales Valenta's gold in the freestyle aerials and Katerina Neumannova's bronze in the 15 kilometre free cross-country. Asked about his feelings after the games, the head of the Czech Olympic Committee Milan Jirasek said he was satisfied - not completely, but satisfied nonetheless. He said his greatest memory of the games would be the playing of the Czech national anthem after Valenta was awarded the gold - "I was on the verge of tears," Jirasek admitted.
