Czechs send helicopter to Bulgaria

Around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, a helicopter equipped with a Bambi Bucket and carrying Czech firefighters is scheduled to land in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Czechia dispatched the team to help fight forest fires. The Black Hawk helicopter, equipped with a 3,410-liter Bambi Bucket, three members of the Fire Rescue Service (HZS), and four pilots and technicians, took off from Přerov Airport at 10:30 a.m., according to Fire Rescue Service spokesperson Klára Ochmanová. Bulgaria is experiencing high temperatures and strong winds, significantly increasing the risk of wildfire spread. In several areas, populated regions are also under threat.
