Czechs relying on EU for security
Czechs rely on the European Union for security and protection against Russia, according to a poll conducted by the STEM agency. An overwhelming majority of Czechs believe that the EU countries should work together to protect their borders and territory, deal with migration, train their armed forces or make joint gas purchases.
However respondents were divided on the issue of setting energy price ceilings and taxing windfall profits for electricity producers and suppliers. Half of them favour a common approach in the EU, while the other half believes that national governments should decide these matters independently.
