Czechs marrying at later age

Brides are getting older in the Czech Republic, with the average age of first marriage for women passing the 30-year mark for the first time last year, Novinky.cz reported. In 1961 women were wed for the first time at 22, on average, though that number started rising following the end of the Communist period.

Among men the average age in 1989 was 25; last year it had risen to 33.
