Czechs electing new president
Polling stations across Czechia opened at 2pm on Friday beginning the second round of presidential elections. The two contenders for the top post are retired army general Petr Pavel and billionaire former prime minister Andrej Babiš. The winner of the two-day election will replace Miloš Zeman, whose second term in office ends on March 8.
Czechs will be able to cast their ballots until 10pm on Friday and then between 8am to 2pm on Saturday. The result is expected between 3 and 4pm.
A high voter turnout is expected in the second round of elections following an aggressive and emotionally-charged election campaign.
