Czechs to compete in four men's kayak and canoe disciplines at next Olympics

Brothers Petr and Martin Fuksa came eighth in the C2 500 at the 2023 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisburg, Germany on Sunday, narrowly securing themselves a spot at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Kayakers Jakub Špicar and Daniel Havel also won a place for the Czech Republic at the 2024 Paris Olympics, finishing fifth in the K2 500.

As well as competing with his brother in the C2 500, Martin Fuksa will also be competing in the C1 1000 at the Olympics next year, having taken the gold medal in Duisburg on Saturday and becoming the new world champion in this discipline for the first time in his career. He will be joined in Paris by kayaker Josef Dostál, who came fifth in the K1 1000.
