Czechs bracing for extreme heatwave

The Czech Republic is bracing for a tropical weekend on which temperatures are expected to hit 37 degrees Celsius in places. Both paramedics and firefighters are on alert in view of the higher risk of fires. Doctors have warned the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and children to stay out of the sun, increase their intake of fluids and avoid exertion. Experts also warn of possible complications for rail transport since tracks could be damaged by the extreme heat. According to meteorologists the heatwave should break on Monday bringing some degree of relief.
