Czechia’s economy grew by 3.7 percent in Q2
The Czech economy grew year-on-year by 3.7 percent in the second quarter of 2022 and by 0.5 percent when compared to the previous quarter, the Czech Statistics Agency reported on Tuesday. While the numbers are slightly more positive than statisticians initially predicted last month, they nevertheless warned that year-on-year comparisons should be considered with the fact in mind that last year was affected by lockdowns.
Gross domestic product grew by 3.4 percent year-on-year, mainly thanks to the transport, housing, hospitality and sales sectors. Statistician Vladimír Kermiet said that domestic consumption fell by 0.2 percent when compared with the previous quarter.
