Czechia urges EU action on illegal waste shipments
Czechia is urging the European Commission to take stronger action on illegal waste shipments. Environment Minister Petr Hladík made the call in Brussels on Thursday, highlighting the growing problem of illegally transported waste in the country.
Czech authorities report a rise in detected illegal waste shipments, which they consider a serious environmental threat. Czechia is proposing a shared database to track violations across borders and calls for one central authority to manage the issue, instead of having over 300 authorities in Germany alone.
