Czechia summons Russian ambassador over drone incursion into Poland

Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (Spolu) summoned Russian Ambassador Alexander Zmejevsky to the Czernin Palace on Thursday, following the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones. Lipavský announced the step on social media, stressing that Czechia stands with Poland and that NATO territory will be defended.

Zmejevsky arrived at the ministry in the afternoon. In line with diplomatic practice, he was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Jan Marian.

According to ministry spokesman Daniel Drake, the summons was meant to underline Czechia’s firm stance on Russian provocations and solidarity with its NATO ally.
