Czechia to send evacuation flight for citizens in Israel, warns against travel to region
Czechia will send a repatriation flight on Monday for its citizens in Israel, the Foreign Ministry announced on social platform X. Those wishing to board must register with the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv.
In addition, several Czech citizens are expected to fly from Amman to Bratislava the same day aboard a Slovak-organised evacuation flight, ministry spokesman Daniel Drake told the Czech News Agency. The ministry continues to update its list of evacuees and is prepared to arrange further flights if needed.
The ministry also issued new travel warnings, advising against travel to Israel due to the ongoing war with Iran. Lebanon and Jordan were added to the list of high-risk destinations. On Friday, Czechs were urged to leave Iran.
According to the DROZD travel registration system, 144 Czech citizens are in Israel, 50 in Jordan, 55 in Lebanon, and two in Iran. The ministry estimates that hundreds of Czech nationals live in Israel long-term.
With Israeli airspace currently closed, travellers are advised to stay in contact with their airlines and monitor flight updates. Leaving Israel by land through Jordan or Egypt remains possible. Travel to Jordan is now recommended only in urgent cases.
