Czechia sees significant price hikes in clothing and accommodation

Prices of clothing, accommodation, and electronic equipment in Czechia have risen far more than in the rest of the EU since the inflation wave began in 2020, the Czech News Agency has reported, citing a Cyrus analysis carried out between 2020 and 2025. In contrast, food prices rose in line with the European average and petrol prices rose less.

Clothing prices jumped by 49.3 percent—the highest increase in the EU—compared to the European average of just 11.4 percent. Accommodation costs saw an even steeper rise, up by 58.3 percent, nearly double the EU average of 29.5 percent, the survey suggests.
