Czechia sees second highest growth in EV sales in EU in first half of 2025
Czechia recorded the second highest increase in new electric vehicle (EV) registrations in the EU during the first half of 2025, with sales rising by 67%, just behind Spain’s 84% growth.
The overall European EV market grew by 22%. Despite this, EVs make up only 6% of the Czech car market, placing the country 17th in EU rankings, according to the country’s Transport Research Centre.
This growth is driven by a wider selection of affordable EVs, stricter emission rules for company fleets, and improving public charging infrastructure. Leading the Czech market in the first half were the Škoda Elroq, Škoda Enyaq, and Tesla Model Y.
