Czechia sees highest Sunday increase in Covid-19 cases to date

The number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in the Czech Republic reached 5,059 on Sunday, according to data from the Ministry of Health. It is the highest Sunday figure since the start of the epidemic in March.

Altogether over 174,000 people have tested Covid-19 positive. Over 100,000 people are currently fighting the infection. Some 3,519 people hospitalised with Covid-19, of which 587 are in serious condition. A total of 20 people died on Sunday, bringing the overall death tally in the Czech Republic up to 1,422.
