Czechia sees 21 temperature records on Sunday, Dobřany hits 30.4°C

Czechia recorded 21 new temperature highs on Sunday, marking the second straight day of record-breaking heat. The warmest spot was Dobřany near Plzeň, where the thermometer climbed to 30.4 degrees Celsius, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute reported.

Meteorologists say this weekend was the last taste of summer. Astronomical autumn begins on Monday, bringing a sharp cooldown. While highs in South Moravia may still rise above 20 degrees, western Bohemia could see just 11. By midweek, daytime temperatures across the country are expected to stay below 15 degrees, with only a slight warm-up possible next weekend.
