Czechia rejects extremist rhetoric in Israeli-Palestinian conflict, sends more aid to Gaza
The Czech Republic firmly rejects extremist rhetoric that undermines prospects for a just and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said on Sunday in response to a call by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for the re-occupation of Gaza.
“The Czech Republic bases its foreign policy on international law. Any form of annexation or forced population transfers is unacceptable to us. Support for any country is not unconditional. Just as we condemn violent acts by settlers in the West Bank, we also reject extremist rhetoric that jeopardizes hopes for a fair and sustainable resolution to the conflict,” Lipavský stated. He reaffirmed that the Czech Republic continues to support a two-state solution based on dialogue between both parties.
The Czech foreign minister further said Czechia would provide an additional CZK 4 million (approx. EUR 160,000) for emergency food supplies to Gaza through the World Food Programme (WFP), which it considers a reliable and trusted partner.
