Czechia registered 5,720 new Covid-19 cases on Friday

Czech laboratories confirmed 5,720 new coronavirus infections on Friday, about 1,500 more than on the same day last week, Ministry of Health data show.

On Friday, 1,466 people were being treated in hospital for coronavirus, the highest number since mid-May.

In the past seven days, the country had an average of 290 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The situation is most critical in the Olomouc and Moravia-Silesia regions, where the incidence exceeds 400 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
