Czechia pledges support for Poland after Russian drone strike

Czech leaders have voiced strong solidarity with Poland after Russian drones targeting Ukraine struck Polish territory on Tuesday night.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala (Spolu) said Czechia is ready to help defend Europe’s borders if needed, emphasizing that any response would have to be coordinated within NATO. He warned that the Putin regime is testing how far it can go and poses a threat to all of Europe.

Politicians across the spectrum condemned the incident, calling for a strong NATO response, tougher sanctions against Russia, and reinforced defences on the Alliance’s eastern flank.

In a joint statement, the heads of both chambers of the Czech Parliament expressed solidarity with Poland and Czechia’s readiness to stand by its ally.
