Czechia nearing peak of flu epidemic

The Czech Republic is nearing the peak of a flu epidemic, according to the State Health Institute (SZU). More than 2,200 people per 100,000 inhabitants were diagnosed with flu last week, with the number of cases rising by 16 percent in a week. While in the previous weeks the increase in sickness was mainly in children, last week it spread to all age groups. According to the institute, influenza is the dominant cause of respiratory diseases in the country with both influenza type A and type B circulating.
