Czechia lose to Canada in ice hockey worlds semi-finals

Czechia were beaten 5:2 by Canada in the semi-finals of the Ice Hockey Junior World Championships in Edmonton on Friday. The Czechs had caused an upset by overcoming the US in the previous round but were unable to find a way past the competition hosts, who were 4:0 in front in the third period.

Czechia will face Sweden in a game to decide bronze on Saturday. If they win, it will be the country’s first medal from the under 20s tournament since 2005.
