Czechia experiences foreign trade deficit for eighth month in row
The Czech Republic's foreign trade had a deficit of CZK 13.9 billion in September, making it the eighth month in a row that there has been a negative balance of trade, according to data published on Monday by the Czech Statistical Office.
The last time the country experienced a similar situation was in February 2009. Year-on-year the trade deficit was CZK 2.6 billion.
The balance was once again adversely affected by the increased price of oil and natural gas on world markets.
A trade deficit occurs when a country's imports exceed its exports during a given time period.
